Itchy, Itchy, I Feel Twitchy…
I think Sophie has chicken pox. I say “I think” because none of my other children has ever had them. Catherine, Andrew, and Caroline were all immunised before returning to the States from England. She’s not sick so much - a tad fussy and scratching her rash. Good thing I keep a supply of colloidal oatmeal on hand for dry skin and cradle cap!
Other than calamine, any suggestions for relief?

Okay, are you open to alternative remedies like homeopathy? I know it’s really common in Europe, and I use it pretty much exclusively. (It’s inexpensive as well.) If you can find one called Rhus Tox (okay the full name is a lot longer, but that’s what it’s called “for short”) - it takes care of Chicken Pox wonderfully.
My youngest was 15 months or so when he caught them - he was covered from head to toe, but I gave him Rhus Tox regularly, and he didn’t itch - even though he still looked awful. He didn’t run really run much of a fever either, which meant that he wasn’t really cranky or anything - he did look awful though.
You can usually find homeopathics at natural food stores, but you can also order them online at places like 1-800homeopathy.com. (You can also go to their website and read more about it if you want to - the internet is a wonderful tool!)
Anyway, you’re in my prayers, and hang in there!!
Peace,
Jenny
