Shoes and a WIP
I whipped up these sweet little soft shoes for Sophie a few days ago using this tutorial and pattern. I did have to grade them up to fit So’s tootsies. They were made from a remnant of upholstery fabric and a parson’s chair cover that is no longer needed. They’re lovely and sturdy, though are just a bit slippy on the hardwood floors. I cut out some cork soles that I haven’t worked up the courage to glue on…
In this photo, you can also see the green tunic I’m currently working on for Sophie (refashioned, of course). They’ll look pretty with a pair of faded jeans or some custom pants. The photo doesn’t do the fabric justice - it’s a delicious merino/angora blend in pale green with sage slubs throughout. YUM!

And these little paper bears are so charming and match so well that I couldn’t resist posting a photo. You can print and fold your own by visiting this site. It makes a nice rainy-day project (which we’re finally getting here in New England!)

How’s that shawl coming?

lovely Nissa! when you refashion woollens, do you just use a sewing machine or a serger/overlocker? do you felt the woollens first?
